Ok so my name is Claire Wineland and I’m a 17 year old living with a chronic illness called cystic fibrosis(CF for short). Millions of people live with CF, I’m nothing special, but very few people have even heard of it ( and those that have always think its some kind of brain disorder… I’m still not sure if i should be offended by that or not). Anyway, I’m not here to act as some kind of medical dictionary because we can all just go Google the information about CF whenever we want; I’m here to shed some light on what it’s really like to be sick, and hopefully to change the way we view illness and those living with it. I don’t think that life is black and white, we can’t see everything that’s abnormal and strange as being bad. I have spent around 1/3 of my life in the hospital, have had around 30 surgeries, do up to four hours of breathing treatments a day, and my life expectancy isn’t necessarily impressive( if ya know what i mean). Yet I have had a wonderful life; I have lived a life I’m proud of. I have lived a life I’m proud of. A life I am excited to share with you through The Clairity Project. Welcome.
